This sculptural art glass bowl is attributed to Murano, Italy, based on its hand-blown construction, cased glass technique, and distinctive waffle-textured base. The bowl features a milky white interior encased in clear glass, creating soft, flowing striations throughout the body. The organically ruffled rim forms irregular lobes, each uniquely shaped, emphasizing its free-form, studio-made character.
The waffle or grid pattern on the base is a recognized Murano finishing method, commonly seen on mid-to-late 20th-century Italian art glass, and is rarely found on pressed or mass-produced pieces. The bowl has substantial weight, thick walls, and excellent clarity, all consistent with skilled Venetian glasshouse production.
